Today I'm proud to announce that Place of Wonder is welcoming another fan fiction writer to the site, Evelyn Weibel. Evelyn has written various pieces of Adventures in Odyssey fan fiction in the past and you can find links to those stories in her bio. Her latest work posted on Place of Wonder is entitled First Great Adventure of the Summer. In this story Jason reminisces with his father about one day when he was 14 and stowed away in his father's car on a trip to Chicago, and got more than he bargained for. You can go ahead and read the whole fan fiction story right here.
It's time once again to release the next installment in the Adventures in Odyssey fan fiction series known as The Malachi Letters. This latest released is entitled Part 5: The New Shop in Town. It talks about Mr. Whittaker's transformation of the Fillmore Recreation Center into the ice cream and soda shop we know today as Whit's End. This series is written from the perspective of the angel Malachi. You can read this new letter here.
Have you ever wondered what Odyssey might look like twenty years in the future? There's a fan fiction for that. The first part of The Future Today series was called A Happy New Year and was released last December. And now we are happy to release the next chapter in the story, Part 2: Restructuring. This fan fiction series follows Whit's granddaughter, Jenny Whittaker, as she continues his work in Odyssey. What will happen this time? You'll need to read it to find out.
If you've been waiting for another piece of Adventures in Odyssey fan fiction from the AIO Update, you're in luck. The next installment in our series entitled The Malachi Letters has been released. It is called Part 4: Redeemed. It deals with Mr. Whittaker's return to Odyssey after visiting Jack Allen in Nebraska and his purchase of the old Fillmore Recreation Center. This series is written from the perspective of the angel Malachi, who is actually Whit's guardian angel according to this fan fiction universe. You may want to catch up on the previous three letters before you read the fourth one. But when you've done that, make sure to read this latest letter.
Last October we released the first part in the series called Lost Album 51 Stories, which carries on with some of the characters from Album 50 during the time of Album 51: Take It from the Top. That first story followed the characters of Grady McKay and Wooton Bassett as they took an adventure together in the new and upgraded Imagination Station. It's been a while but now it's finally time for another installment in this fan fiction series. Part 2: Something in the Water takes a look at another set of characters who never show up in an Album 51 episode but nevertheless continue to live their lives in Odyssey. You can read it here.
Happy 2015 and welcome back to Place of Wonder for our first piece of fan fiction of the year. If you've read the first two parts in The Malachi Letters series, called Vivid Recollections and The Invitation, chances are you'll be interested in the latest installment. It is titled Part 3: An Encounter with Clara. It centers around the events we hear about in the episode Clara in Album 28: Welcome Home. This particular series of Adventures in Odyssey fan fiction looks at the life of John Avery Whittaker from the perspective of the angel Malachi. If you haven't yet read the previous letters in the collection, you should probably do so before jumping in to read the third part.
The first fan fiction series we debuted on the AIO Update is called The Malachi Letters and it begins when Mr. Whittaker's wife dies, before Adventures in Odyssey even began. Our second series is called Lost Album 51 Stories and it takes place during Album 51: Take It from the Top. Now we are proud to debut the first installment of a third series called The Future, Today. The name is based off the episode title The Present Long Ago in Album 44. This latest series takes place roughly twenty years in the future after AIO's latest release, Album 58: The Ties That Bind. Part 1: A Happy New Year takes us to the Whit's End of the future, which is being enjoyed by a new generation of kids. You can read it here.
It's been two months and that means it's time to release the next letter in our collection called The Malachi Letters. This series of fan fiction is written from the perspective of the angel Malachi, who is voiced by Philip Glassborow in the episode Malachi's Message. Part 2 of this series, however, takes place quite a bit earlier on the Adventures in Odyssey timeline than Malachi's appearance in Album 32. The second installment is called The Invitation and follows closely after the first part, which described Whit grieving after the loss of his wife, Jenny. We expect the third letter to be released in January of next year. But if that sounds like a long time to wait, you'll be pleased to know that near the end of December we'll be releasing the first part of a new series which you might find interesting to read as well.
Have you ever wondered what happened to Grady McKay after Album 50? What about Mandy Straussberg and her parents, Marvin Washington and his family, or even the Rathbones? They all seemed to disappear as soon as the relaunch of Adventures in Odyssey came in 2010. Well, this new fan fiction series will address that. It is called Lost Album 51 Stories and it takes place during Album 51, but it will feature many of your favorite characters who left the show after the most recent hiatus. Part 1: The Good Old Days is a story about Wooton and Grady taking a trip together in the new Imagination Station. You can read it here.
Do you remember the angel Malachi who first shows up in the popular Adventures in Odyssey episode Malachi's Message in Album 32: Hidden Treasures? Well in this new fan fiction Malachi is back, except this story is taking place in Album 1: The Adventure Begins. This new series will be a collection of letters called The Malachi Letters. And the very first one has now been released. It is called Part 1: Vivid Recollections. Be sure to read the author's note before you begin. And afterwards, let us know in the comments what you thought of it. We will be releasing the second letter in November.
